A squirrel-cage rotor is the rotating part of the common squirrel-cage induction motor. It consists of a cylinder of steel laminations, with aluminum or copper conductors embedded in its surface.
SQUIRREL CAGE MOTORS
- DC motors were the first form of motor widely used, as they could be powered from existing direct-current lighting power distribution systems. A DC motor's speed can be controlled over a wide range, using either a variable supply voltage or by changing the strength of current in its field windings
DC MOTORS
- Flameproof motors are designed to withstand the pressure caused by an internal explosion without incurring any damage. They prevent flame propagation outside of the enclosure.
